  • Royal Scientific Society has launched first Software Quality Assurance and Testing Centre in the Region.

    HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society has launched the National Software Quality Assurance Centre equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure based on Hewlett Packard's Converged Cloud solution technology, providing highly-scalable cloud-based services. The Centre provides quality-assured testing services and setups to clients prior to going live boosting the effectiveness and accuracy of developed IT systems. "This center was born out of a vision to provide a beacon of excellence and innovation in software testing and quality assurance services across the region," said Princess Sumaya, President of RSS. "For this reason, we are delighted to work in collaboration with HP to ensure the highest quality service and to contribute even more to enable national capacity building efforts and regional professional development in this key technological domain." HRH Princess Sumaya also emphasized the importance of the combined efforts of the various parties which supported this great undertaking including: The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, as well as Intaj, and the Princess Sumaya University for Technology. The Centre aims to raise the software quality and efficiency by seamlessly coordinating the related processes following globally accepted standards and methodologies. By providing a comprehensive software lifecycle management service, the center provides its clients with optimal solutions to avoid operational errors and reduce development costs while acquiring business-critical competitive edge delivering reliable, enterprise-class applications on-time and within the budget. HP Quality Center on SaaS software provides RSS with a comprehensive quality assurance solution to consolidate test assets and develop end-to-end quality processes. Automated reporting saves the IT team from the labor-intensive routine work of data collection, making the whole testing process manageable and efficient for modules requirements, release cycle, test plan, test lab and defects management as well as dashboard reporting are seamlessly integrated to allow the smooth flow of information across all testing stages .

  • Cooperation Agreement between the Royal Scientific Society and the Jordanian Anti-Corruption Commission for Software Quality Assurance Services.

    The Royal Scientific Society/National Software Quality Assurance Centre signed a consultation agreement with the Jordanian Anti-Corruption Commission, whereby the centre will assure the quality of the computerized tracking system for the complaints received from different institutions and citizens about the corrupt practices as well as to computerize cases currently dealt with by the Commission. The agreement, which was signed by Mr. Samih Bino, the Commission President and Dr. Mohamed Saidam, the Executive Director of Applied Science in RSS, comes in compliance with the requirements of the World Bank’s grant to support this project. It is worth noting that the National Software Quality Assurance Centre has been launched under the patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya bint Al-Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society in May, 2013. This new innovative centre located in RSS considered as the first comprehensive centre in the region to maintain and ensure software’s quality. The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure based on Hewlett Packard's Converged Cloud solution technology, providing highly-scalable cloud-based services. It provides quality-assured testing services and setups to clients prior to going live During the previous period the centre has implemented several projects to maintain and assure the quality of software with several leading companies in the field of software development, including: Progress Soft, Mena ITech, Optimiza Inc. …etc. It is worth mentioning that the RSS is considered a vital centre for research and development at the local, regional and international levels, as it has always been at the forefront of the world of technology and an actor in supporting the national economy in several areas, including the field of information and communication technology. Started by introducing the first computer in Jordan and up to the launch of such advanced services in information and communication technology in the present day .
